Counting Down to Spring ——and it cannot come too soon!

After a very cold and icy start to the year, the weather has finally warmed up tempting us to dream of Spring.  Hope that you are enjoying more “Spring-like” weather too!  Seeds are sown in their makeshift greenhouse and a few have even sprouted.  It is such a hopeful season.

Flowers are already blooming in the studio.  I chose a couple of my favorites: coneflowers and black-eyed Susan’s even choosing the ones that have rusty red patches on the yellow patches.  This is an 8” high by 16” wide painting packed full of color.

Hopes for plein air are high although not enough is beginning to sprout or has just barely sprouted.  Every day I walk by the daffodils watching for buds to arrive but realizing that only leaves are coming up.  Buds have appeared on some trees so the signs are there although patience is required.

In the meantime I will spend my time painting to be especially prepared to take in all the beauty that will come!

“Happy Early Spring” to you all!

Sincerely,

Judy
